As of yesterday, the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 reached 28,312 or about 1.2 percent of the total 2,408,431 positive cases in Malaysia.
The total number of BID cases increased to 5,718, which is about 20 percent of the total casualties due to COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the number of COVID-19 patients admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) has continued to decline since early September.
There are 643 active cases in ICUs nationwide at the moment, compared to more than 1,500 at the end of August.
Currently, the ICU usage rate in government hospitals nationwide is 60.4 percent, but four states still record rates above 70 percent, namely Sarawak (77.7 percent), Kelantan (74.2 percent), Perak (71.3 percent), and Putrajaya (70.0 percent. ).
The number of COVID-19 patients who need respiratory assistance also recorded a decrease over the past two months with 320 cases as of yesterday compared to more than 900 cases in early August.
