Covid-19 deaths exceed 25,000 cases
PUTRAJAYA-The number of deaths due to Covid-19 nationwide has now surpassed 25,000 with 25,159 cases, following an increase of 228 deaths yesterday.
According to data updated at 11.59 last night on the CovidNow website, it includes 89 actual death cases over an average period of seven days.
There were 36 cases of out-of-hospital or brought-in-dead (BID) deaths, bringing the total number of BID cases nationwide to 4,923 cases.
"At the same time, Negeri Sembilan, Perlis, Labuan and Putrajaya did not record Covid-19 deaths," according to the website here today.
The states that recorded deaths were Selangor (75), Johor (56), Sabah (19), Kelantan (18), Kedah (15), Perak (14), Sarawak (9), Penang (8), Melaka ( 4), Terengganu (4), Pahang (3) and Kuala Lumpur (3).
Malaysia's daily Covid-19 cases declined further to 13,104 on Sunday, from 13,899 the day before.
These raised the total number of infections in the country to date to 2,198,235, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a Twitter post.
Sarawak maintained its top spot with 2,943 new cases, followed by Selangor with 1,558 cases, Johor (1,455), Kelantan (1,206), and Sabah (1,078).
Perak posted 994 cases, Penang (955), Kedah (721), Terengganu (685), Pahang (604), Melaka (362), Kuala Lumpur (270), Negeri Sembilan (165), Perlis (80), Putrajaya (24) and Labuan (four).
