KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 - Sarawak United FC first choice goalkeeper, Mohd Sharbinee Allawee Ramli paid a heavy price when he was suspended for five matches following his 'violent' actions in the Premier League match between his team and Negeri Sembilan FC on Sept 10.

Negeri Sembilan FC won the match 1-0.

Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Baljit Singh Sidhu said for the first charge, Mohd Sharbinee had violated Article 50.1 (d) of the FAM Disciplinary Code, namely behaving without sportsmanship when he deliberately hit the chest of the opposing team player, Mohamad Zamri Pin Ramli.

He said, for the second charge, the player had violated Article 59 of the FAM Disciplinary Code which is behaving without sportsmanship when he aggressively pushed the referee's chest after being shown the red card and punched the substitution board held by the fourth official to replace him after being ordered off the field. which was his third charge.

"The player was given a two-match suspension including one automatic match suspension and a fine of RM3,000 for the first charge, a two-match suspension and a fine of RM2,000 for the second charge and a one-match suspension and a fine of RM2,000 for the third charge," he said in a statement today.

Baljit stressed that Mohd Sharbinee was automatically suspended for one match for the Premier League match between his team and Johor Darul Ta'zim II on Tuesday (Sept 21) while the remaining four-match suspension is effective immediately for the next four official Malaysian League matches, including the Super League, Premier League, FA Cup or Malaysia Cup, either in the same season or next season.

Meanwhile, Baljit said that his teammate, Mohd Badrul Affendy Mohd Fadzli was also punished for committing two offences under Article 59 of the FAM Disciplinary Code,

namely behaving without sportsmanship towards an assistant referee by rushing towards him aggressively and pushing him hard, after being dissatisfied. by the decision of the match referee, on the first count.

For the second charge, Mohd Badrul was found to have rushed towards the referee and his two assistants aggressively and pushed the referee's chest after the match.

Baljit said the offences saw him suspended for two matches and fined RM2,000 for the first charge and suspended for two matches starting Tuesday and fined RM2,000 for the second charge.

He also said that another player, Mohammad Amer Saidin, violated Article 59 of the FAM Disciplinary Code when he rushed towards the referee and his two assistants besides pushing the referee's chest, which saw him suspended for two matches, including Tuesday's action, and a fine of RM2,000.

Baljit added that harsh punishment was also imposed on Sarawak United FC head coach, E. Elavarasan, after the latter made a statement during the post-match press conference on issues involving FAM without permission where his statement could have a negative impact on FAM's reputation.

He said Elavarasan had violated Article 61 of the FAM Disciplinary Code read together with Article 7 of the FAM Statutes (Conduct of Bodies and Officials) and Article 82 of the FAM Statutes (Contributions to the Media), which saw him suspended for 12 months from engaging in any football activities from Sept 17, 2021-Sept 16, 2022 and a fine of RM10,000.

“However, the committee has decided to adopt Article 35 of the FAM Disciplinary Code where the suspension sentence is suspended in advance subject to the good conduct of this official for 12 months.

"If the same offence is repeated within 12 months, then the 12-month suspension will be enforced immediately against him," he added.

Apart from that, Baljit said that Sarawak United FC team official, Abang Fomay Abang Sa'adeli was suspended for two matches and fined RM10,000 while Rudy Bujang was given a six-month suspension from engaging in any football activities following their actions that did not show sporting spirit in the same match.

However, Baljit said all suspension decisions could be appealed and that the players and officials could be given stern warnings as well as heavier punishments would await them if they repeated the same offences after this.
