KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 16 -- A man who has 19 criminal records and wanted by the police in connection with drug and public mischief cases, was arrested in Bangsar today for possessing a sharp object and a stolen motorcycle.
Brickfields district police chief ACP Zairulnizam Mohd Zainuddin said the 27-year-old man was arrested during a crime prevention patrol at 11.20 am while riding a motorcycle in a suspicious manner.
"A police check found that the motorcycle was using a fake registration number and had been reported missing," he said in a statement here.
He said the police seized a sharp object, namely brass knuckles and urine test results found that the man was positive for heroin.
Zairulnizam said the man also admitted to have been involved in a motorcycle theft in Danau Kota with another friend.
"The case will be investigated under Section 7 (1) of the Corrosive, Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958, Section 411 of the Penal Code for possessing a stolen motorcycle and Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug abuse offences," he said.
