The Health Ministry announced 1,607 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 63,749.
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, the ministry’s disease control and prevention director general, Achmad Yurianto, added that 81 more people had died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 3,171.
The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 29,105.
The capital city recorded 257 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 12,435. Meanwhile, East Java reported 552 new cases, Central Java 208, South Sulawesi 136, West Java 106 and Bali 52.
The virus has spread to all of the country's 34 provinces. (dfr/mfp)
