The Health Ministry announced 1,447 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 62,142.
Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, the ministry’s disease control and prevention director general, Achmad Yurianto, added that 53 more people had died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 3,089.
The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 28,219.
The capital city recorded 223 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 12,183. Meanwhile, East Java reported 413 new cases, South Sulawesi 195, Central Java 110, Bali 91 and West Java 88.
The virus has spread to all of the country's 34 provinces. (dfr/mfp)
