One local, 24 foreign women held in vice raid

KUALA LUMPUR: A 27-year-old local woman and 24 foreigners were detained by police during a raid at a premises in Kepong.
The 24 foreign women, aged between 22 and 32, are believed to have worked as guest relations officers (GROs) at a premises in Kepong, allegedly violating their immigration permits.

raid, including four other workers and the premises' manager.
"The local woman was in charge of selling garlands and tiaras to patrons at the premises, which we believe has been operating for about two years," he said.
It is understood that patrons would used the garlands and tiaras as tokens for the GRO of their choice in return for their services.
Police also questioned 28 patrons on the premises during the raid led by Bukit Aman vice prevention unit head Deputy Supt Redzaimi Abd Hamid on Saturday (Nov 16).
According to SAC Rohaimi, 18 of the patrons without prior criminal records were later released while others were taken in for questioning.
Those arrested were later taken to the Sentul Police Headquarters for questioning to aid with investigations.
