Melaka PRN: DAP contesting eight seats, risking two new faces

KUALA LUMPUR: The DAP will be contesting eight state seats in the Malacca State Election on 20 November, risking two new faces.

According to DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng, in a press conference held just now, the two new faces will be contesting in the Pangkalan Batu and Bandar Hilir state constituencies.

"For N15 Pengkalan Batu we nominate Muhamad Danish Zainudin, a new face for Pengkalan Batu where the former state assemblyman has already jumped the party from the DAP," he said.

Meanwhile, another new face who will contest in the N22 Bandar Hilir seat is the female candidate, Leng Chau Yen.

For the other six seats, the party will retain its old face to return to contest the election.

They are Saminathan Ganesan (Dun Gadek), Kerk Chee Yee (DUN Ayer Keruh), Allex Seah Shoo Chin (DUN Kesidang), Low Chee Leong (DUN Kota Laksamana), Damian Yeo Shen Li (DUN Duyong) and Tey Kok Kiew (DUN Bemban).

These candidates will contest under the Pakatan Harapan (PH) logo.

According to Guan Eng, the DAP aims to make history in prn this time despite difficulties after not being allowed to campaign as before.

The DAP is also confident that all the candidates will be at stake, including two new faces, to return to winning all eight seats.
