The Dewan Rakyat this afternoon, approved the Supply Bill (RUU) 2022 or Budget 2022 at the policy level. The bill was passed after gaining the support of a majority of MPs from the government and the opposition without having to go through a split vote.
The decision was announced by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tan Sri Azhar Azizan Harun, at 5.20 pm.
Earlier, the Minister of Finance, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, wrapped up the debate for about an hour.
The approval of the bill will enable the government to use funds under the Consolidated Fund for national expenditure for next year. Next week, the debate will go through committee stage before voting is once again held.
