KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 16 men and 12 women were arrested after being involved in a wild party at a luxury residence, in Jalan Pudu, here, early this morning.

The raid was carried out at 1am by the Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which received information on the activity at a residential unit on the 36th floor of the residence.

Deputy Head of the Criminal Investigation Department, Kuala Lumpur, Assistant Commissioner Nasri Mansor, said during the raid, a total of 28 individual visitors aged between 27 to 63 years old were celebrating a woman's birthday organized by her husband.

"As a result of the raid, the police found ketamine drugs believed to be used by some visitors who were invited by the woman's husband and a friend of his wife.

"One of the three bedrooms in the residential unit is used as a place for them to dance equipped with disco lights," he said after leading the operation.

Nasri said, they also found condoms used by visitors suspected of committing immoral activities among the guests present.

"Based on urine screening by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN) Kuala Lumpur, seven men and four women tested positive for drugs.

"The police also took action against the owners of the residential units and the management of the residences who allowed these wild party activities to take place during the Tightened Movement Control Order (PKPD) in Kuala Lumpur," he said.

He said all the individuals involved were detained and compounded in accordance with Section 22, Infectious Diseases Control and Prevention Order, Act 342, Section 6 (1) (c) of the Immigration Act, Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act and Section 15 (1) ( a) the same act.
