PUTRAJAYA: The Majlis Pemulihan Negara (MPN)has been formed to replace the JKKPPN to ensure the smooth implementation of the Plan Pemulihan Negara (PPN) and further strengthen the Covid-19 epidemic control strategy holistically.

Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said the MPN would be chaired by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and would appoint representatives from the private sector, industry experts and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to share experiences and advice on various aspects of VAT. based on a whole of nation approach to enable Malaysia to emerge from the pandemic systematically and safely.

Tengku Zafrul, who is also the PPN Coordinating Minister, said the matter was reached in the second meeting of the JKKPPN today chaired by the Prime Minister to monitor the development during the spread of Covid-19 infection in the country.

“The meeting also decided that the PPN will be tabled in Parliament on July 26.

"Several other matters have also been decided which will be finalized in the near future," he said in a statement today.

Tengku Zafrul said, among the matters decided was to improve the standard operating procedures (SOP) based on feedback, among others, from subject matter experts, in line with efforts to improve the clarity of SOPs and the level of compliance.



Apart from that, some flexibility to the people will be introduced for those who get two doses of vaccine besides considering flexibility for companies that give full vaccinations to their employees to operate fully, ”he said.

According to him, the MPN will also consider and recommend improvement measures to ensure that the transition from one phase to the next can be achieved as soon as possible based on the achievement of the key threshold values ​​set.

“Going forward, the government is strengthening its strategy to control the Covid-19 epidemic holistically by focusing on factors such as activity rate or movement; the rate and duration of infectiousness; risk to the population and capacity of the public health system, ”he said.
