KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested 12 individuals after they were suspected of being involved in wild party at a hotel in the capital, last night.
All the suspects, aged 20 to 35, including four enforcement personnel, were taken to the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters (IPD) for further action.
Dang Wangi District Police Chief, ACP Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said the raid was carried out at 9pm as a result of public information and intelligence by the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (BSJN), Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters (IPD).
He said during the raid, the police found nine local men and three women in a room at the hotel having fun.
“We had carried out a raid on a wild party held at a hotel at 9pm.
“12 individuals have been arrested for the offense of holding a social gathering and all of them have been taken to the hall for further action.
"Four of the 12 individuals arrested were found to enforcement personnel," he said.
Mohamad Zainal said the police also confiscated pills and two bottles of ketum water during the raid.
Investigations are conducted in accordance with Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, Section 15 (1) (a) of the same act as well as offenses under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures in Local Areas of Infection) (Movement Control) Regulations 2021, who will be compounded for violating the conditions set out during the Movement Control Order (PKP).
