UTP Reigns as Malaysia's Number One Private University in QS Asia Rankings 2021

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 -- Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) once again retained its position as the nation's number one private university in the QS Asia University Rankings 2021, at 70th place, 12 notches up from 82nd last year.
With the highest achievement so far in the rankings, UTP is now placed in the top 11 per cent out of 634 published institutions in the rankings, said a statement issued by UTP, here, today.
UTP vice-chancellor Prof Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib attributed UTP’s standing in the rankings to “our strategic partnerships with the universities in the region, as well as the high quality graduates that we produce are recognised by diverse industries”.
Since its debut in 2016, UTP has risen 57 notches in the rankings from 127th in 2017, 101st in 2018 and impressively the top 100 for the first time in 2019 when it was ranked 99th.
UTP has improved its performance across four of the eleven metrics utilised by QS, namely academic and employer reputation, staff with Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and inbound exchange students.
Once again, UTP retains its position as the nation's number one private university in the QS Asia University Rankings...
