Indonesia: New COVID-19 cases surpass 6,000, highest since March

JAKARTA: The number of daily new COVID-19 cases in Indonesia has exceeded 6,000, the highest since the first case was detected on March 2.
A total of 6,267 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the republic bringing the overall positive cases to 534,226.
The National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB) said in its twitter account @BNPB_Indonesia today that the number of recoveries was 445,793 while 67,836 people are still being monitored for the virus.
A total of 169 deaths were also reported over the past 24 hours up to noon today (Sunday), raising the tally to 16,815
