KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuala Lumpur High Court has ordered Datuk Seri Najib Razak to enter his defence on charges of alleged misappropriation of RM42mil of SRC International Sdn Bhd funds.

Justice Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali ruled on Monday (Nov 11) that the prosecution had proven a prima facie case against the former prime minister.


Najib is alleged to have misappropriated RM42mil from SRC International and was charged with three counts of criminal breach of trust (CBT), three counts of money laundering and one count of power abuse.

During the trial, the prosecution team tendered more than 750 exhibits including Najib’s bank documents, cash transactions, meeting minutes and Blackberry messenger chats over Najib’s transactions.

PETALING JAYA: All eyes will be on Justice Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali today as he announces his decision on whether Datuk Seri Najib Razak should enter his defence or be acquitted of seven charges brought against him in the SRC International Sdn Bhd case.


The former prime minister is alleged to have misappropriated RM42mil from SRC International and was charged with three counts of criminal breach of trust (CBT), three counts of money laundering and one count of power abuse.

If the prosecution, led by Attorney General Tan Sri Tommy Thomas, manages to establish prima facie in the case, Najib will have to enter his defence starting Dec 3.

During the trial, the prosecution team tendered more than 750 exhibits including Najib’s bank documents, cash transactions, meeting minutes and Blackberry messenger chats over Najib’s transactions.
