No such thing as Death to Antifa fest at Publika, says UEM Sunrise

PETALING JAYA: UEM Sunrise Berhad has strongly denied that a “Death to Antifa” fest will be taking place at Black Box, Publika, after a poster of the purported concert went viral on social media.
The property developer behind Publika said no authorisation had been given for such an event to take place at its premises.
UEM Sunrise’s statement was in response to social media queries it received over the fake poster.
According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP), the festival featuring six right-wing “Malay power” bands had been scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur next month, but a similar event in Ipoh had been cancelled amid protests.

SCMP report also stated that the “Malay power” movement is made up of neo-Nazi bands, which want to rid Malaysia of everyone who is not ethnically Malay and to stop immigration.
However, UEM Sunrise dismissed any association with MTD Production, Death to Antifa nor any of the performers related to the purported event.
We “will not hesitate to initiate legal action against individuals or groups who organise events using the Publika brand without authorisation,” UEM Sunrise said in its statement Wednesday (March 20) that was shared on the Facebook page of MAPkl, an arts and cultural platform.
And while they support and respect the freedom of speech, said UEM Sunrise, the public is advised not to disseminate unverified information.
