Ex-lawyer claims trial to committing CBT involving RM200,000

SEREMBAN: A 62-year-old former lawyer has claimed trial at the Sessions Court here to committing criminal breach of trust involving close to RM200,000 belonging to a client almost nine years ago.

pleaded not guilty after the charge was read out to him before judge G. Ramesh.
The accused had allegedly failed to hand over RM198,592.50 to Maimunah Lanjung, which was a payment from the government for an unrelated case.
He allegedly committed the offence at his law firm on Sept 3, 2010.
Ramesh then fixed May 23 for remention and allowed the accused to be released on a RM25,000 bail.
The accused was represented by N. Maniam while Nor Akmal Mohd Azri prosecuted.
