Water supply disruption in 50 Kuala Lumpur areas expected to be fully restored by tomorrow night

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 10 -- Unscheduled water supply disruptions in 50 areas around the capital due to a leaking pumping pipe at the Segambut Pump House are expected to be fully restored by 9 pm tomorrow.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) corporate communications head, Elina Baseri said the repair work for the leaking pipe was completed at 5.40 pm today and the water supply had started to be restored in stages.

Elina said Air Selangor had moved water tankers to the affected areas with priority given to critical locations such as hospitals, dialysis centres and for burial ceremonies.

"Consumers are expected to comply with physical distancing and always wearing face masks when collecting water from these tankers," she said in a statement, tonight.

Emergency Repair Work On Pumping Pipe’s Leak at the Pump House in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur –Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) would like to inform of a pumping pipe’s leak at the Pump House in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur. The emergency repair work has been completed at 5:40 pm today. The water supply has been distributed in stages and is expected to fully recover at 9:00 pm, 11 October 2021.

The incident has caused an unscheduled water supply disruption in 50 areas in the Kuala Lumpur region. The list of areas affected by the unscheduled water supply disruption is
as listed in Appendix A.

Air Selangor has mobilised water tankers to the affected areas, with priority given to
critical premises such as hospitals, dialysis centres as well as funeral services. Consumers are required to adhere to physical distancing and to wear face masks at all time while
collecting water supply from the water tankers.

Consumers can refer to all our official communication channels, namely the Air Selangor application, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or contact the Air Selangor Contact Centre at 15300. Inquiries and complaints can also be submitted to the Help Centre via
