Teen biker crashes into police car in bid to escape roadblock

ISKANDAR PUTERI: A teenager in an attempt to evade authorities sustained injuries to his legs after his motorcycle collided with a police car at KM21.1 along the Second Link highway here on Sunday (May 5).
Iskandar Puteri OCPD Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the 2.04am incident involved a police Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) and a Yamaha LC motorcycle.
"Initial investigations at the scene found that the incident happened when the MPV, while on traffic patrol from Gelang Patah to Perling, collided with a motorcycle that was travelling against traffic flow.
"The motorcyclist went against the traffic to escape from going through a roadblock not far from the scene," he said in a statement here on Sunday.
ACP Dzulkhairi added that the victim suffered broken legs and has been rushed to Sultanah Aminah Hospital to get medical treatment while the police personnel inside the MPV did not sustain any injuries.
He said the case was being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
